College Basketball Shakeup

This weekend was a crazy weekend in Men's College Basketball. As of Friday, Kansas University, Kentucky University was Purdue were ranked #1, #2, and #3 consecutively. Kansas and Kentucky have many of the top projects on their rosters including Cole Aldrich and John Walls. However, as the weekend came to a close all three teams lost big. Purdue lost to Michigan State 53 to 44 at home. Kentucky lost to the University of Tennessee 74 to 65. Michigan State and Tennessee are also topped ranked teams looking to move up before the start of tournament play. So these loses are disappointing for fans but not the end of the world for these two top programs. Kansas probably had the biggest lost of the weekend losing to unranked Oklahoma State 85 to 77. OK State junior James Anderson torched Kansas with 27 points. When the new AP poll comes out this week the new #1 could be anyone but Sports Xperts predicts that Syracuse will the nation's top ranked team after handing it to Villanova 95 to 77. Wesley Johnson for Syracuse is a legitimate small forward prospect after scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Last year, UNC was clearly the top team in the College Basketball. This march however, could be very exciting as no team stands out. Sports Xperts is excited to cover the top stories from March Madness.

Manchester City defeats Chelsea 4-2

Today at Stamford Bridge, Manchester City defeated Chelsea four to two in the English Premiere League. This was an important win for City who is trying to remain in the top four. The top 4 teams at the end of the season in the EPL play in the European Champions League next summer. Carlos Tevas scored two goals while two Chelsea players Juliano Belletti and Michael Ballack were sent off. This game had more than just title implications. This was the first game between now-rivals Wayne Bridge and John Terry. Recently, John Terry admitted to having an affair with Wayne Bridge's wife and mother of his child Vanessa Perroncel. Bridge, before the game started, declined to shake Terry's hand. Terry was dismissed as the England captain earlier this month because of the scandal. I have played soccer my entire life and in college I played wing back just like Bridge. The relationship between the center back and wing backs is very important. There is a lot of communication, strategy and trust that goes into playing on the back line. I am not surprised that Bridge will decline a call up to the England squad for the 2010 World Cup. This scandal is just what England didn't need going into the tournament. The United States will play England in the first game for both nations on June 12th in Rustenburg, South Africa.

NFL Combine

This weekend is the NFL Combine in Indy. The NFL has become the biggest, most popular sport in the United States and this weekend will showcase its next generation of talent. I just read on ESPN.com that Dez Bryant will not be running the 40. CLICK TO READ ARTICLE.

I think this is unfortunate for Bryant's chances of being drafted in the top-10. Last year, Michael Crabtree could not run the 40 and he his draft stock fell all the way to the 49ers with the 10th pick. Most people remember that he was projected to be a top-5 pick before the combine. Who knows maybe if Arrelious Benn from Illinois or Brandon LaFell from LSU runs less than a 4.4, Bryant's stock could fall.
